Children's Halloween Party!!!!!

It’s time to start planning the Children’s Halloween Party for the squadron.

I’d like to have as much input as possible from spouses’ before I set a meeting date.

The party will be held on October 25th from 2-4pm at the Squadron.

We will have a costume contest and I would like to have a couple of other activities for the children to do. If you have any suggestions for games (we still have bingo cards from last year, if needed) or crafts please forward them to me.

I will also need assistance the day of the party. If you are willing to help please let me know that as well.

Any ideas at all are appreciated!

IT'S TIME TO GET THOSE HOLIDAY LIGHTS UP!

Col Stutts has authorized base residents to put up their Christmas lights at this time. Residents should strive to have them in place before the end of the month due to the possibility of inclement weather, which could create dangerous situations with ice forming on roofs and driveways. The wing will send out additional guidance on when base residents can turn them on, but the tentative date is 6 weeks before the holidays and 30 days after per the housing office newsletter. Please refrain from placing large lawn ornaments (inflatable snowmen, lighted sleigh/reindeer and other large items ) out for Christmas until after Thanksgiving holiday is over.

Reveille, retreat discontinued until spring

To help prevent accidents due to trying to stop vehicles on icy roads and to help avoid personnel standing at attention during extreme cold temperatures there will be no reveille and retreat until springtime.

However, in order to comply with testing standards, Taps will continue to be played at 10 p.m. each weekday (excluding down days and holidays) from three locations; the corner of Cargain and Loop Access roads, the Air Traffic Control Tower and the 354th Communications Squadron. Due to system specifications, all tests will stop when the temperature falls below -30F.
